About Me and My Real Estate Team
Aren’t All Agents The Same?
Why Do You Need An Agent Anyway?
This is where I get to tell you a little about myself and my team so you can decide if we could be the agents you need to help you sell your home or the agents to represent you when you buy a home. And make no mistake about it, you do need an agent to represent your interests when you buy a home. I know there are those buyers who believe it is simpler, or somehow “better” to let the listing agent write an offer but this is simply not true. In any real estate transaction, the listing agent must always put the seller’s interests first. He can not be a neutral party. And if anything goes wrong during the course of the transaction, or if any negotiation is needed regarding purchase price or repairs etc., if you don’t have an agentt who is representing you, the seller always has the advantage over you. Regardless of the circumstances. You need independent representation! And it costs you nothing!
I am a full time REALTOR® affiliated with J Rockcliff Realtors in the San Francisco East Bay. I have been selling real estate here for over 10 years. You can read about J Rockcliff Realtors by clicking here, but the one thing I want to mention is that the main reason I choose to work with J Rockcliff Realtors rather than any of the other brokers is their reputation for and insistence on a high level of ethical behavior and their commitment to technology. J Rockclif is the East Bay’s premier real estate company.
My main office is in Danville although I have the use of all of J Rockcliff’s offices when I ned them. In practice though, I work mostly out of my home office. I specialize in helping nice people to buy and sell homes throughout The San Ramon Valley and Lamorinda.
Prior to real estate, my background was technology-related. Originally from England, I was a software engineer back in the 1970s and later moved into sales and marketing in international technology recruitment and relocation. My sales, marketing and relocation background has proved invaluable in my real estate career, not to mention my earlier exposure to technology, something I have never lost touch with. I use technology more than most agents – I am an e-PRO, the only Internet related designation recognized by the National Association of Realtors.
I moved to California over 20 years ago and I have lived in Orinda, Pleasant Hill, Danville, San Ramon and Walnut Creek. I know this area very well and I love living here.
As well as being an active Realtor, I am closely involved with the Contra Costa Association of Realtors where I am vice chair of the Business Development and Technology Committee and past Chair of the MLS Committee. I was also a Director of the California Association of Realtors in 2011.
On a personal note, my hobbies include woodworking, photography and videography and when I have any spare time I like to build furniture and work on remodeling projects in my home.
Real Estate Is A Team Operation
In todays’ California real estate market it is virtually impossible for an agent to work alone and do a good job of buyer or seller representation. I am fortunate to have my wife, Sylvia, and my daughter, Michelle, both licensed Realtors, to work with me. This is a great benefit as we all cover for each other whenever there is a need. The fourth member of our team is Denise Lema, our Transaction Manager. Denise is as good as it gets when it comes to making sure that all the disclosures and other documentation is completed during the course of the transaction.
Our key values are Integrity, Loyalty, Commitment and Enthusiasm. I am very accessible to the buyers and sellers I work with and when you call me, you will get to speak with me, not an assistant. My cell phone is (925) 997-1585 and it is switched on from 8am until 8pm every day. On the rare occasions I do not answer, this is because I am either talking to somebody else or in a meeting. I aim to answer emails with the hour.
If you want to buy or sell a home in the San Ramon Valley, we really should be talking to each other. Nobody will look after your best interests more than me and my team.
I look forward to helping you.
